Western Pacific [Union Pacific]
Wells, Nevada
August 16, 1998

Wells, Nevada is near the eastern end (Alazon is the name of the actual junction) of the paired trackage agreement between the Western Pacific and Southern Pacific which extends across the middle of the state to Weso, just short of Winemucca. Here looking north (railroad west) on the WP from the Pacific Avenue grade crossing the WP main curves left to pass under 6th Street, while the connection with the Union Pacific's branch from Twin Falls, Idaho diverges to the left. Not visible here is the Southern Pacific mainline which is behind the 6th Street bridge. Alazon is about three miles west of here.
