Lehigh Valley
Sayre, Pennsylvania
March 7, 1970

One of the joys of visiting the Lehigh Valley's Sayre, Pennsylvania facilities was the series of pedestrian-friendly bridges scattered throughout the area. Here the camera looks north along the north throat of the yards from the Cayuta Street highway bridge; the truss bridges in the distance span Cayuta Creek. Not visible beyond them is the abandoned Delaware, Lackawanna and Western mainline embankment, now occupied by the Southern Tier Expressway (New York Route 17), followed by the Erie mainline overpass.
