Lehigh Valley
Rochester Junction, New York
November 7, 1971

Such Lehigh Valley name trains as the Black Diamond did not directly serve Rochester, New York, which was well off the mainline. Instead, at Rochester Junction passengers would transfer to a shuttle train for the ride north into Rochester. The Lehigh's mainline is to the left, including one of its classic semaphores, with the Rochester branch heading off to the right. Passenger service on the Lehigh Valley ended in February 1961; alas, the station burned to the ground in April 1973, apparently the work of juvenile arsonists.
