Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Williams, Arizona (Williams Junction)
November 26, 1995

Looking west at Williams Junction, the "peavine" line to Phoenix can be seen branching off to the left as an eastbound freight coming off the Crookton Cutoff climbs toward the Arizona Divide. This part of the Phoenix line is actually a remaining segment of the original mainline, traversing the center of Williams, Arizona and passing the junction with the Grand Canyon branch, now owned by the Grand Canyon Railway. From there it continues to Ash Fork where the actual "peavine" branch heads south to Phoenix. The original mainline is abandoned from there to Crookton, where the Crookton Cutoff begins.
