McCammon Junction, Idaho
August 18, 1998

McCammon Junction, Idaho (southeast of Pocatello) is a major hotspot on the Union Pacific's Pacific Northwest lines. Here two lines from the south (former Utah & Northern from Salt Lake City and the UP's Oregon Short Line from Granger, Wyoming) join for the run to Pocatello, where they again diverge to head for Butte, Montana and Portland, Oregon respectively. This view from the 1st Street grade crossing faces north towards Pocatello; the signal bridge carries the southbound home signals for the junction.
