New York Central

New York Central [Penn Central]
New York
March 26, 1971

Another rear vestibule shot from one of Penn Central's Empire Service trains between New York City and Buffalo. Here we get a look at one of the former New York Central signal bridges, protecting the end of the siding at the left. For some reason Central preferred searchlight signals with much smaller shields around the targets; perhaps in the brilliant glare of a sunny, snowy day the signals were easier to read that way (not).
