New York Central

New York Central [Penn Central]
Croton-Harmon, New York
January 24, 1973

At Croton-Harmon on the New York Central's Hudson River line an electric locomotive moves into place to take a southbound Buffalo to New York Amtrak train the remainder of the way into New York City's Grand Central Terminal. Many of these units came from the Cleveland Union Terminal when it ceased electrified operations in 1953, and were rebuilt for third rail operation. This view is of course looking south.
