Pennsylvania [Penn Central]
Girard, Ohio
August 21, 1971

This massive coal tipple marked the beginning of the Pennsylvania's complex Youngstown, Ohio network. Ahead are connections with the Lake Erie & Eastern; behind is the line to Ashtabula via Niles and Warren. Needless to say, the tipple is no longer in use. The Baltimore & Ohio's Lake Subdivision to Warren and Painesville passes beneath the tipple in a tunnel to connect with the B&O mainline at Ohio Junction.
