Nickel Plate Road [Norfolk & Western]
Cleveland, Ohio
August 28, 1970

Another look at the former Nickel Plate in Cleveland, again from the Ohio State Route 43 bridge and this time featuring one of the Norfolk & Western's many Alco switchers (no. 2065) as well as a pigeon not quite frozen in flight. Note the 30 mph speedboard on the former Erie connector, now partly overgrown, as well as the unused catenary support for the Cleveland Union Terminal trackage. One of the double slip switches is just visible to the left of the switcher.

Although this slide is clearly marked August 4, 1971 the date seems highly unlikely, as it would be the only slide taken on that date. It seems much more likely that it was taken on the same day as the other slides at Broadway, August 28, 1970.
